Welcome to Boost Camp

Fitness, Fat Loss & Fresh Air!

BOOsT Camp is: fitness + meets school yard games + meets sports conditioning = hard work, good fun and great results.

Plus you gain the benefit and motivation of charting your own progression with a fitness assessment session at the start of each month.

Who is the training aimed at?

BOOsT Camp is suitable for all levels, as we believe in working the most YOU CAN to YOUR ability. That means you will not always be doing the same as the person next to you, but hopefully you will find it the same intensity as them.

The session leader 'Rebecca Roach' is an experienced Personal Trainer and group instructor and is used to training people new to exercise all the way through to professionals within the fitness arena. Rebecca loves a challenge, so there is no such thing as too uncoordinated, or not fit enough (unless your Doctor says otherwise).

Exercises can ALWAYS be adapted. We also believe in you shouting out encouragement to others in the group who may be flagging. You will be surprised how much more you can squeeze out when others spur you on.

There is no need to feel intimidated by the trainer as Rebecca is here to support, encourage and help push you that bit further to get the results you want.

Why be stuck in an overcrowded gym or at home doing the same old thing and expecting change, when you can be out in the fresh air seeing change?

Training over the mixed terrain of which natures playground provides, you will increase fitness, experience fat loss and enjoy a team like spirit.

Outside benefits

Boost Camp is all about getting fit whilst in the fresh air. Rather than sat down and slouched on a resistance machine that trains just one muscle group at a time, we believe in making more efficient use of your time and work many areas at once whilst challenging the body in a range of functional movements.

After a day in the office or stuck in your car do you really want to spend more time in a stuffy, sweaty, air conditioned box/gym?

Even more benefits

Training outside gives you a lot more space and freedom to move than you have in most gyms. This in turn allows for plenty of cardio work without having to stare at the same four walls whilst willing the clock to count down quicker. Due to the uneven surface of working outside you have to rely more on core stability, balance and reaction time than when on fixed piece of equipment in a gym/at home.

Working out within the beauty of a park helps time fly quickly and leaves you feeling more relaxed afterwards. By joining us at our outdoor fitness sessions, not only will you gain far more physical and mental benefits but it's also a greener way to exercise-allowing you to keep fit and be environmentally friendly at the same time!

How we differ

Intensity, intensity, intensity.

Always give 100%

We believe it is all about it is all about giving 100%, that is both you and us.

Your full potential at your level

It is about releasing your full potential and working at the correct level for YOU. Doing exactly the same as the person next to you may not be right for you and may even leave you injured. On the other hand there is nothing worse than leaving an exercise session feeling you had a lot more to give.

Quality of technique

We aim to strike the balance between quality of technique whilst giving you a workout that makes you feel like you have given your all. Supportive

Our approach is supportive, to be your motivator and to push you, we are not here to intimidate you, or make you feel stupid or useless. We want you to enjoy your workout - at least afterwards (you may be swearing under your breath at the time).

Not only do we want to support you, we want you to support each other. You will be surprised how much more you can squeeze out when others spur you on.

What to expect

Join us for an exhilarating 45 minutes, training over the mixed terrain of which natures playground provides, you will increase your fitness, it will aid fat loss and you can enjoy a team like spirit.

Format

The first 5-10 minutes is spent warming up, some of which is perfecting the exercises that are then used in the main session. Mobilization and dynamic stretches follow the warm up.

The main session is a mix of individual work, group work, with partners and with teams. The format is fast paced, but we value quality of technique so will keep emphasizing this throughout. This means you get best results and reduce the risk of injury.

The last part of the session is spent cooling down. And you must finish with a stretch.

Equipment

You see a flight of stairs- we see a step all set up ready for you to use. You see a hand rail and we see a pull up bar. A bench, instead of sit on it why not use it for tricep dips - you get the idea, show us an area in the park and we will rise to the challenge and find a way to have fun with it.

We also have a vast range of equipment which is utilized.

  • Resistance: Medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, sandbells, Viprs, battling rope, and resistance bands
  • Core: Stability balls, BOSU, Wobble board, hoops, and mats (Rebecca is an experienced Pilates instructor)
  • Cardio: Skipping ropes, boxing equipment, steps, BOSU, Kettlebells, Speed ladder, trampoline and cones

Clothing

As we train in many different weather conditions we advise the following:

  • A good pair of trainers worn with socks
  • Sportswear worn in layers, so you can strip down as you warm up and layer up again at the end so your body temperature does not cool too rapidly
  • Light weight waterproof jacket - optional, but you will be grateful if it is bucketing down
  • Woolly hat and fingerless gloves - optional, we would hope only for winter but in the UK you never know

Other important things to bring

  • Completed forms - if you have not filled them in online - you cannot start training until we have all the required information
  • Water - 500ml to 1litre
  • Sunscreen if hot
  • Inhaler if asthmatic

PLUS.......

  • Friends, family, colleagues who also want to improve their body and fitness
  • Sense of humour

.... please leave moaning, laziness and hangovers at home

Frequently Asked Questions

Do train outside in winter?

Yes. We train throughout the year and our sessions change to accommodate the different weather conditions. We advise sportswear worn in layers, so you can strip down as you warm up and layer up again at the end so your body temperature does not cool too rapidly. A light weight waterproof jacket is optional, but you will be grateful if it is bucketing down. Woolly hat and fingerless gloves - optional, we would hope only for winter but in the UK you never know. In summer, please remember sunscreen.

Do you offer nutritional support?

Yes. Rebecca is a trained Nutritional Consultant. We do not advocate any faddy diets, instead we go with the proven and peer recognised advise of the World Health Organisation (WHO). We have designed advice sheets to help you along your way to a better diet. We also offer more in depth Nutritional Consultations (**** needs to link to EveryBod PT nutrition section).

What do you wear?

In the colder months a tracksuit is ideal. Layers are key so you can adjust according to your core temperature. Shorts are for the brave in winter - it is your call. A lightweight waterproof top can come in useful when bucketing down. Supportive trainers, rather than fashion trainers/pumps are strongly recommended.

Do you have an annual contract or tie-in?

No. Unlike gyms you do not have an annual contract or tie-in period. However, please note refunds cannot be issued. In the case of injury if you inform us straightaway and we will put your current sessions on hold until you have recovered.
